Stranger Danger

I've mentioned that Mindy is nice, right? Because she really is the kindest person I know. Kind to a fault. Like sometimes she talks to crazy people.

For instance, one time we were out on a bike ride and we stopped at the top of a particularly strenuous hill. As we are catching our breath, a guy on a bicycle is going past us. Mindy makes some comment to him. He proceeds to stop and stare at us for a solid minute. Then he keeps pedaling. Then he turns around and comes back to stare at us some more. Then he goes the opposite direction and we start to book it out of there. Of course about a mile later we realize that he is following us. We proceed to try and lose him and get on the opposite side of a building. We watch him stop and look everywhere for us. It was about this time that I made a rule limiting the conversations that Mindy is allowed to have with strangers.

Of course she forgets this rule often. Sometimes we get yelled at by hobos after she wishes them a 'Good Morning." Other times we get asked really awkward questions.

She took her stranger danger conversations to a whole new level.

The other day she received a text from a number she didn't recognize. Here is what happened.



It didn't end there. Mindy texted Nana Robin the next day too. I'm pretty sure that they are facebook friends now.
